hey, this link will give you 20% off any order placed at twee kitten (cds/dvds/vinyl/whatever). a lot of older stock is already reduced in price, so this makes those titles reeeally cheap!!
coupon (viewing the shopping cart will show you finalized prices)

it will work at least through the weekend, but probably longer.... after doing mailorder full time for a lot of years, i'm transitioning to part time, so as part of this there isn't a lot of new stuff in stock. xo

Rosehips - 20th Anniversary Reunion

The Rosehips are organising a gig at the Glebe in Stoke-On-Trent on Saturday 18th November, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of signing to the Subway Organisation. Superfab Sheffield indiepop group The Fucking Rosehips (aka The Parallelograms), will be reforming especially for the occasion to play a set of Rosehips covers, and Rocker (ex-Flatmates, ex-Rosehips) will be playing a dj set of records from the era. Other bands are to be added to the bill which runs from 8 till way past our bedtimes.

next week TWICE in London:

Thursday August 17th - Pipas/Shimura Curves/H Bird (acoustic) - Upstairs at The Progress Bar, Tufnell Park, N7 - more info here

To be fair, we did have two Poles onstage last time ; ) (ah, the joys of playing at a former strip club), but sadly Kasia will be away on August 17th so Kate and I will be doing this one acoustic. But expect to hear some new songs, possibly ones that we will only ever play on this night. I really want to try out "Die Büchlein" and "Lumières des Belgique". Before you get too excited about the continental-ness of it all, they are however sung in English. And possibly a cover though we haven't decided what yet (though probably not Queen's "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy"). Hope to see you there.

Saturday August 19th - Lucky Soul/10 Minute Cloud/Silver Springs/H Bird - The Good Ship, Kilburn - it's £1 off with a flyer which we will be putting up soon

The "Full H Bird Experience" will return for a very exciting show ; ). As you may know Lucky Soul are my favourite new band of the year and their "Lips Are Unhappy" is so far my choice for single of the year. We're on at 8:30 and are going to switch the set up a bit, possibly playing another new song as well.

if you haven't stopped by to say hello yet, please do - H Bird

any indie pop fan living close to Denmark should consider going to this year's Pop Revolution in Aarhus on September the 14th, 15th and 16th. It's a very small music festival in a very small town, but it will definetely be nice! the line-up so far is:
The Whitest Boy Alive
Harper Lee
(they almost never do concerts, so this is a big scoop!)
The Cakekitchen
Secret Shine
The Embassy

and the two Danish bands Jacob Faurholt & Sweetie Pie Wilbur and Scaredycat

plus a lot of top notch twee pop DJ'ing and cute kids who stare at their all-stars while talking about their Sarah records 7"-collection!

more information + the rest of the line-up (when it's ready) at
see you there!
